Wicked Wares from our first official Halloween Shopping trip of 2016

We hit the stores this Labor day weekend on a carefully planned trip to maximize our time to find the most Halloween there is. We had a route in mind and a timeline and stuck to both...what we did not stick to was a budget....we went way overboard...WAY over. Anyhow I was pleased with what we found and thanks to my professional shopper wife M, she saved us a ton of money. She had apps on her phone that just pulled coupons out of the air wherever we went!

First off, very aggravated at Target again this year. They had Halloween cards out with a big sign. The Bargain Halloween items were out at the beginning if the store but no Halloween. They had tons of Back to School crap and some Avengers Costumes left over from last year.... BLAH!
Same thing for Walgreens (2 huge isles cleared but only one small section of last years stuff) Kmart (huge cleared area but only some of last year crap) and Walmart (tons of christmas though).

I actually found a box of clearance items I had ordered from Spirit back in March of this year. This stuff is too good not to post:

The last of my Spirit Clearance items from March and, you guessed it, 2 bucks each. I figured M would like to use this at her job or if she ever decided to rob a bank.

More $3 Target items. M got 2 each of these to Put in the Eerie Elegant Dining room.

Found these at Michael's . They had 30% off Halloween and M found a 20% off Coupon so everything was half price! $10 each! These will go in the living room on the new couch.

$4 Michaels. Got this one for the balcony door during daylight hours. 

New Lenticulars! I will have a wall of these one day! $4 each Micheals.

Got these for the buffet table at Michaels. $7.50 each.

M found her a cover for the desert table for the Halloween Party. $4 Ross.

M loved this pumpkin at Ross. It had the tiniest chip in the stem (which I fixed within 10 minutes of getting home) she got %10 off becuase of it! $7.

Ross for $10. M wants to put it in the middle of the new couch flanked by the skull pillows we snagged at Michaels. 

I could not believe this item at Ross for $10. Heavy metal door knocker with hardware. This is going on the front door TODAY!

This is the only item we bought from an actual Halloween Store (Halloween Express) 75% off! $4!

I am sure we will do a couple more runs before October sets in. Have any of you found anything great so far?

Wednesday's Wicked Wares

Here are some of the Halloween goodies we have picked up over the last couple of weeks :

M loved this old hanging witch for some reason...so we got it for a steal from Oriental Trading

Ghost girl also came from Oriental trading for less than half what Grandin Road was asking.

For now, she is guarding my upstairs window...I really like her.

Just a little project for the grave yard....nothing huge but a good deal on something we can really improve upon from Walmart.

Another M have to have...Walmart had it for a great price and I like his ghostly face. M is going to creep him up with some more cloth.

This is the lunging reaper that Halloween Express had for 299 but on sale for 239. We got the EXACT same one from Home Depot for 99! He is really awesome and will entertain people in line and act as a distraction on Halloween night.

Another good deal from Oriental Trading. M had to have this one too....she rarely asks for props so she got it.

Big Heavy Polystone Gravestones to help beef up the sparce Graveyard. The two in the middle came from Micheals with M's discount we got them at 60% off. The ones on the ends are from Home depot for 15 each. The one on the far right is a chalk board which I intend to make a countdown to Halloween in our grave yard.

Some big old styrofoam tombstones from Home Depot. They have lights in them but we will never turn them on. We are just looking for filler in the haunt.

Mostly inside/party haunt stuff. The warning and beware were from the Dollar General for a buck each. I have 2 more from last year and they will go great together.The Wicked After Midnight was from TJ max for 4.99 The BEWARE with the crow lights up with LED and is from Ross and was 4.99. The last two with pumpkins is a set from Home Depot at 7.99 each and LED. The 4 warning signs are the most important part of the haunt and shall adorn trees at every corner of the property to warn would be thieves and or vandals. 

The top two in left hand corner are from Dollar tree and REALLY well detailed lenticulars 1 buck each as is the one in the bottom right. The 31 came from Ross for 3.99. The last two lenticulars came from michaels and at 60% off thanks to M. 

The hooks and chains came from Michaels as did the zombie hands...all at 60% off. The spider book was TJ max  as was the spider web placemats.

The short circuit bulbs are from the Hope Depot and are screw in! They have a switch for steady and shorting. The chargers and the awards are from Party City.

Found a great deal on these at a bar supply store online. Jello shots anyone?

All from the Dollar Tree for a dollar each. The Glow in the dark stuff is just for the black light basement party rooms.

Walmart skeles that M had to have.....

M has been after this creepy phone for 3 years now. It is motion activated and rings as well as saying some unsettling things should you answer it. She loves it.

Got these Green LED floodlights from China at 4.98 each! Spirit sells one that is half the lumens for 29 bucks. I had to wire a cord into them but still with the wires and work I am getting by at 85% off.

Wicked Wares Wednesday

Sadly, we have not been able to hit a single yard sale where we always find a multitude of cool and repurposable items...but I hope we can squeeze a few in before the full on haunting season is upon us.

We have managed to order a small army of "new bodies" to populate both the house and the Cemetery. Looking forward to getting the huge boxes in over the next few weeks.

We have been able to hit a few stores that had some Halloween merchandise out, plus, we have been picking stuff up since last Halloween here and there. Here they are in no specific order.

We picked up this bad boy Christmas shopping last year at TJ Max!

 

M nabbed these right before Thankgiving from CVS. 90% off. 

Another M CVS find, this is from this year though. She already has plans for these at our Halloween party.

Picked this up on our Anniversary. Creepy little shop with 2 headed ducks, animal skulls, and ghost hunting equipment. This will be great eye candy for the Halloween Party.

Got us a couple of mugs at Rite Aid.

Found this online at a clearing house in Ohio. Got it for next to nothing.

Grabbed this at Big Lots. Not a fan of the hands but the globe itself is great!

Another Big Lots Find. LED and it does a perfect creepy light bulb with a short!

This is my free copy that I won from AtmosFEARfx name that DVD contest. Cannot wait to use it!

Also added 3 more HD high lumen projectors for the haunt itself. I have huge plans for these babies.
