Thirsty Thursdays {Countdown to Halloween Day 15}

 


Swap in green tomatillos for tomato juice to make this eerie upgrade of a classic Bloody Mary.

Ingredients
4 medium tomatillos (about 3.5 ounces)
2 Persian cucumbers, peeled and chopped (about 3.5 ounces)
2 stalks celery
1/2 c. cilantro
1 small jalapeño, seeded
1/4 c. lime juice
2 tbsp. horseradish, squeezed of excess moisture
1 tbsp. pepperoncini brine
1/2 tsp. green Tabasco
Kosher salt and pepper
4 oz. vodka
Pepperoncini and red chili flakes, for serving

Directions
In blender, puree tomatillos, cucumber, celery, cilantro, jalapeño, and lime juice until very smooth, about 1 minute. Strain through medium-mesh sieve into pitcher, pressing on solids to extract as much juice as possible. 
Whisk in horseradish, pepperoncini brine, hot sauce, 1/4 tsp pepper, and pinch salt. Stir in vodka and serve over ice with pepperoncini and red chili flakes if desired.





These martinis use Reese's Pieces to infuse the vodka so that they taste just like your favorite peanut butter cup. This takes a chocolate martini to a whole new level. The Reese's and peanut butter rim just makes everything better.

INGREDIENTS
FOR THE REESE'S-INFUSED VODKA
1 c. vodka
1/2 c. Reese's Pieces
FOR THE COCKTAIL
Ice
3 oz. Reese's-infused vodka
3 oz. milk
2 oz. Chocolate Liqueur
1/4 c. peanut butter, for rimming glass
1/2 c. crushed Reese's Pieces, for rimming glass
2 Reese's peanut butter cups, for garnish
2 tbsp. chocolate syrup

 
DIRECTIONS
In a mason jar, combine vodka and Reese’s pieces. Cover with tight-fitting lid and shake. Refrigerate overnight, then strain.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice then pour over strained vodka, milk, and chocolate liqueur. Shake until chilled.
Put peanut butter on one small plate and crushed Reese's Pieces on another. Dunk tops of two cocktail glasses in peanut butter then roll in crushed Reese's Pieces.
Drizzle about a tablespoon of chocolate syrup into each glass. Divide cocktail mixture between glasses and garnish each with a peanut butter cup.


Smoking Blackberry Sage Margarita

Ingredients
2 ounces 100% agave silver tequila
1 ounce lemon juice
8 medium blackberries
5 leaves fresh sage
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1 dash orange bitters
Garnish (optional):
Dried sage leaves
Blackberries
Dry Ice

Instructions

Muddle the blackberries and sage together in a cocktail shaker until broken down and fragrant.
Pour in the tequila, lemon juice, bitters, and maple syrup. Give it a good shake and pour over either a cube of dry ice (if using) or regular ice if using the dried sage leaf. If using the dried sage light the tip on fire right before serving.

    1. I have personally tried it and it is amazing! Lighting the dried sage is a must!!!!!!!

    2. And that dried sage will get rid of any bad juju in my home as well. Although since it is Halloween, maybe I want the juju to stay!
