With October 1st upon us, it is officially Halloween Season. Unfortunately, it is with a heavy heart that I must announce that we will not be decorating for the 2020 Halloween season.
We have put great thought and discussion into this decision and have decided to abide by the recommendations of our health departments, CDC, and local governing bodies. This is for the safety of the public as well as that of me and my family. Every year we have hundreds of visitors during weekends in October and THOUSANDS on Halloween night itself. There is just no safe way to manage this and, believe me, we have weighed all options to do so.
Do not worry, we will be back bigger and scarier than ever in 2021!
I encourage everyone to still celebrate the spirit of Halloween in your own way!
Some examples are:
• Backyard campfires telling ghost stories
• Outdoor projector or TV to watch scary movies at night
• Nature walks to view our amazing fall foliage
• Decorating you homes and having your own mini haunted house
• Making creepy foods and drinks to celebrate
• Carving pumpkins and baking pumpkin seeds
• Enjoy 2 full moons during a nature walk at night (October 1st and 31st)
I still plan on posting things from Halloween past on the blog to keep the season spirits up!
I hope everybody has a safe and Happy Halloween Season! See you next year!
I think that is a really responsible decision. After you states case number remain low. The kids will miss it but that will make 2021 all the better.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your decision, but it's the responsible thing to do this year. I'll miss those blues and greens, but 2021 should be insane!!
