So disappointed in Fact or Faked Bluegrass Bigfoot (Season 2 Ep216). Woodboogers are safe from these guys.

I have been a huge fan of SyFy's Fact or Faked series...until last night.

Pose if you are clueless!
The team looked at a Kentucky game camera's picture of a supposed bigfoot and took off to investigate it. The sad thing is, numerous other TV shows, news programs, and Bigfoot experts/websites have debunked this to death! Over the last three years the creature in the picture has been proven, time and time again, to be a crow.

Here is the video clip from History Channel's "Monsterquest" TV show that debunked it first:

Here is the clip from CNN debunking the same picture:

The sad thing is this is just 2 of SEVERAL expert and or professional groups that have debunked this same photo over and over again. Even Cliff Barackman of the "Finding Bigfoot" series did a post on his blog about this not long ago. [LINK HERE]
I have two huge questions here. First, is the paranormal/supernatural community so stagnant that this show is forced to use very old, dated, and debunked evidence to create episodes? Second: Since there seems to be an never ending flow of strange photos, videos, and other evidence, WHICH STAFF MEMBER ON THIS SHOW IS RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT DOING THE RESEARCH ON THIS EVIDENCE? All they would have had to do is Google it and they would have found countless other shows that have already examined this photo and done a way better job at investigating it than they did.

How odd that my fellow blogger, Jessica Penot of the Ghost Stories and Haunted Places Blog, did a post yesterday lamenting the lack of investigative efforts of the show. Although the show she speaks of was an earlier show that dealt with ectoplasm, it points to the same problem. This leads me to believe they have a VERY out of touch research producer that would greatly benefit from reading and or search engines.
If SyFy doesn't do something about their researcher on this show, I suspect we will see an episode where the Fact or Faked crew go searching for Sasquatch in the beef jerky section of supermarkets:

Woodboogers beware. Finding Bigfoot has NOT been canceled.

Animal Planet's hit TV show "Finding Bigfoot" HAS NOT, I repeat, HAS NOT been canceled.

I sparked a firestorm of emails and net queries by posting a funny video put together by some of the team members as it aired on the Entertainment Channel's "The Soup" .

At the end of the video, Cliff makes a joke about "Oh so we found Bigfoot.... I guess we are canceled now." It was just a joke. They are in fact shooting the next season as we speak. Some of the episodes will take them international to find the origins  of Bigfoot/Yeti in "some of the squatchiest locations on earth".

South West Virginia Woodbooger fans should not despair. They will still be shooting episodes in the US and there is a VERY good chance that they will return to our very own High Knob area for another hunt. Until they do, I suggest all of you mega fans calm down, grab a Woodbooger T shirt, and watch some reruns.

If you just can't wait for the show to return (which it is I promise), you can always join one of the several groups that has popped up to discuss and share info (funny and serious) on the Woodbooger. Facebook has one such group, "The High Knob Woodbooger Association" , that you can join by clicking HERE.

The WoodBooger has been found. Finding Bigfoot canceled.

You can all stop looking all over the Knob. The squatch has been found by members of the "Finding Bigfoot" team ... and we had it all wrong.

It is the start of the weeKEnD. It appears we will have rain and clouds for the most part, but warm weather will stay with us in my neck of the woods. I hope everybody gets out and celebrates some Saint Patties with friend and family while eating/drinking something green. If you do, be on the look out for the leprasquatch. You never know where you may run into him at.

Wood Booger shelter discovered.

Or it could just be some kids trying to make a authentic Wood Booger shelter from vines and driftwood in a remote section of river. You be the judge.

There was even a pile of chewed grass under it. Most likely just kids... but it is still kinda cool to think about  a squatch making shelter in our little town.

Pretty sure I found the back door to the Headless Horseman's tree of death nearby.

Still enjoying the great weather, even if I am not making any huge paranormal discoveries.

Need your help with stories, pictures, videos, and "Wood Boogers".

While my blog has achieved being the number one authority on Haunted Attraction within 100 miles of Wise County, I am still nowhere near being the font of knowledge for true haunted sites. I am calling on all locals and neighboring counties to share your stories, pictures, videos and location of your experiences. I am looking for anything paranormal from beasts to ghosts, and even the elusive sighting of the Wood Booger. I will give full credit for any validated information.

The June Tolliver House in Big Stone Gap. Reportedly one of the most haunted houses around the area.

You can find the definitive and ongoing Wise County repository of wicKEd Places HERE.

I hope to hear from some of you soon.

The hunt for the "Woodbooger" continues!

With our already uncharacteristically mild winter almost over, we have been having some rather terrible thunderstorms lately. We were even under a tornado watch Wednesday night. Thursday's weather gave us a much needed break with almost spring like weather and sun, so we got out of the house and took a walk around Wallen's Ridge in search of the elusive Woodbooger. (That and we are trying to get in shape by walking 5 miles a day when the weather breaks.).

Miranda's Christmas Cactus is confused again and blooming early/late. It looks fake the color is so vivid.
We happened upon some geese, or Woodbooger snacks. They went all Jurassic on Miranda and hissed at her when she approached.
McWoodbooger Duck Nugget. I always wondered how they stay so white while standing in mud.
We visited this very "squatchy" watering hole, but did not see any Woodboogers.
This super creepy abandoned house on the river has to provide shelter for a Woodbooger.... either that or an ax murderer.

Miranda trying her best to locate a "Woodbooger".
Not even her pinky finger could dislodge one.
While we  found no Woodboogers, the signs of an early spring were everywhere.

It was a glorious day to be out and about, even if the Woodbooger eluded us. As the sun sets on another day, I question whether the Woodbooger will ever be found.

Never before seen photo of the "Wood Booger"!

Oops... that is not the Wood Booger.... that is just forest snot! She must be allergic to witches and/or bad acting.

Well that is getting closer but still not the Wood Booger we are looking for.

Those are, most certainly, some boogers made from wood, but not THE WOOD BOOGER.

The truth is, we may never have an actual picture of the elusive Wood Booger of Southwest Virginia.
