These Monsters find a hard time fitting into mainstream monster genre. Some are silly, some are scary...some...just defy explanation, but they are all monsters! Bonus points if you can identify some of the lesser known ones!
What an awesome bunch of pics! I love original monsters so much more than the classic ones! The ones I think I recognize are: Halloween, Pet Sematary, Ghoulies, Saw, Little Shop of Horrors, The Cell, Monster House, Cujo, Re-Animator, Men In Black, Basket Case, The Puppeteer, Christine, Child's Play, Critters, Gremlins, Ghostbusters, and 2 pics from Poltergeist. I haven't seen Teeth, but the pic is really cool. I also can't place the pic with the bunny-eared-empty-eyed thing ... but I know I know it. Tell me what it is if you get a chance.
LOL too much time is a great thing. 13-Cereal Monsters 14-The Outer limits 15- Men in black 22(just great masks as you said ;) 25- Church from Pet Sematary 26 is the tree that eats the boy in Poltergeist and 27 is the Clown doll that drags him under the bead in Poltergeist.
Some of those monsters may not fit into any category, but they sure give me the creeps. The clown from Poltergeist still gives me shivers, but then that whole movies does. The dolls from The Puppet Master *shudder* - that was a good film too. There are lots on your list I don't know, though, but their pictures convey an awful lot! - great list. :)
I've always found the eye-in-hand monster, from Pan's Labyrinth, absolutely creepy.
ReplyDeleteThat was a hard movie to stay interested in, but man that monster was awesome!
DeleteLovely collection! I still thinks it's hilarious that the Michael Myers mask is a mold of William Shatner :) I think about it every time I see it now.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Strange how that face scares the crap out of me and it is good old Capn Kirk!
DeleteThe Ghoulies, I love that film and Puppet Master :). What on earth is that bug on the hand from?
ReplyDeleteTasha's Thinkings
It's from the super old TV show The Outer Limits.
DeleteThat Outer Limits spider cracks me up every time I see it. Of course, if I saw it on my hand for real, I would scream like a little girl!

DeleteOh my lord, what a collection! You even have Chucky :)
ReplyDeleteEvalina, This and that...
Thank you ;)
DeleteThat kid from 'Pet Sematary' is so creepy! Evil kids make the most horrifying monsters.
