Halloween by the light of day

I had to come to a hard decision last night. I had 2 videos this year, one day and one night. 2012 was the year that I went all out on a new camera, a new low lux video recorder, and put in a boat load on haunt lighting. Then it snowed and rained for almost a solid week. Halloween was almost ruined due to weather but gratefully, Mother Nature gave us a 5 hour window without precipitation before it started back up. Just long enough to scare TOTs but not for a really great night video. I was really unhappy with the night shots as rain droplets would hit the lens and cause it go out of focus and we were super rushed. Therefore I have decided to submit my Day Shot video/pictures for this years Home Haunters Video.

Videos must be submitted by January 31st so if you are planning on getting one in this year, time is running out! I highly encourage you to do so if you have any good videos!

I just can't shake the feeling it is somehow wrong to submit a daylight video of my haunt........

  1. Don't fret! I think that it will be fine. I know it's not ideal, b/c the dark is our canvas, but I think those who purchase the video will appreciate it. Is there anyway that you can include some night shots or were they all bad? I incorporated day and night of the same basic shot in my video last year and got some lovely compliments from other haunters for it. They enjoyed seeing how it transformed from day to night, so that's an option if you have some decent night shots.
Working on my vid this weekend... gotta get it done!! Best of luck to you!

  2. The light pictures are still pretty good. I wouldn't worry about it. :)
