Merry Christmas Eve....eve!

This is the un-creepiest thing I have created all year.

Took 10 hot glue sticks, a Styrofoam cone, and 3.5 bags of peppermints to make this. I wish I had lined them up better but it was a good first run. Next year I am going to make a green one. Hope everybody is having as great a holiday as we are!

Our tree skirt runeth over with loot!
Archie hides among the present in hope that Lilly will not find him.
Lilly keeps plotting to take over the world while she systematically searches ever present for the hidden Archie!

Night of the living ginger dead.

They are growing in number every minute!

They are Legion!

We did manage to get a few traditional looking Christmas cookies out of cookie night :

We made so many cookies that night, I think my mother lost her mind :

The cat's were on their best behavior... which usually means they are charging up their batteries for a big evil plan.

Lilly actually decided to take a nap under her tree instead of climbing it for a change.

She is the official cookie taster.

Naughty but nice and also lazy.

She almost looks innocent sleeping there.

It was a great cookie night that actually stretched over 3 days as we completed decorating them. We ended up with over 500 sugar, gingerbread, Ooey Gooey, and chocolate chip cookies. Not to mention 2 huge pans of peanut butter and chocolate fudge. As soon as we stopped for the night, Lilly (with fully charged batteries of evil), went on the prowl.

M happened to point out to Lilly that my mom had wrapped up some presents for her.
She loves presents
Maybe a little too much.

Lilly was her usual naughty self and opened up one of her presents early. I am pretty sure if she could read, she would have opened up Archie's instead.

It time for the annual cookie-apocalypse!

Every year, for as long as I can recall, my family has gotten together and made hundreds of cookies and fudges for Christmas. I got a head start on it this year and have all the gingerbread men and sugar cookies baked and all we have to do is decorate them come tomorrow night.

Naked gingerbread men!

That will save us a ton of time and give us all the time we need to make fudge and home-made chocolate chip cookies.

Being so busy in the south, I am glad there are ready meals available for the Holidays.

We have our southern lights up and lit.

And we are ready to let our children sit on the laps of strangers who will ask them in great detail about how naughty they have been.....whether they want to or not!

Hope you all have a great weeKEnD!

Target's shipping fail, or Christmas prank?

I got in on a really good deal on a small Christmas present for M during Cyber Monday at Target. I even found a coupon code for free shipping. I ordered my item and waited. It arrived yesterday in this HUGE box.

At first, I thought this may have been something that M ordered for me. I checked the name on the tag and it was indeed for me. I then assumed they had sent the wrong item as the present I ordered would fit in the palm of your hand. I opened the ginormous box.

Lots of packing bags filled with air and another box. At least this box was smaller. I dug in and grabbed the smaller box out.

Still an odd combo. This box is sort of small compared to the box it was shipped in but still WAY to bog for the item I ordered. I opened this box to reveal.......

Behold! Another box! only slightly smaller than the second. At this point, I start looking for camera's to see if I am being Punked. I continue and open this box as well.

Finally! The small item I had ordered that could fit in the palm of my hand... all stuffed in this huge box! Now I ask myself, was this a prank from one of the warehouse workers that packed my package? Could it have been a mistake? It seems to be a costly mistake especially seeing how it was FREE shipping.

I have another theory. One that I think I will stick with on this crazy shipping story....
