The Werewolf of The Haunted Forest

 If you are brave enough to venture into The Haunted Forest during the month of October, you will most likely have to deal with the Werewolf who has made his home there for some time now.

 When the moon is full, the Werewolf of The Haunted Forest roams looking for prey! Thanks to the Voodoo Queen's curse, he is locked in his half man, half wolf form for eternity....but when the moon is full he goes out in search of his favorite prey....HUMANS!

Legends has it that he is over 7 feet tall and can leap over tall barriers with ease. Those he can't leap over he just tears through! 

The Werewolf can appear at any time and any place in the forest...you have been warned! 

 I hope you see the werewolf while you journey through The Haunted Forest....because if you don't...that can only mean one thing!

Foul things stir in MECC's Haunted Forest. A Sneak Peek into the dark and haunted woods!

Once again I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek at what is instore for visitors to this years MECC's Haunted Forest. All the favorites are back from past years plus some new features guaranteed to keep you up all night!

The Crypts in the Mausoleum have new occupants. 

One of the newest areas of The Haunted Forest is the Mortuary. It has been such a hot and rainy year that disease and plague have blazed through both the living and the dead that inhabit the forest. So many have been affected that they had to erect this mortuary to house the bodies.

The Mortuary is tended to by a dreadful being known only as The Plague Doctor. He was a victim of the plague but managed to survive with only the diseases ravaging and twisting his body into terrible shapes and conditions. 

He will allow you to visit those that are suffering but be warned! If he thinks you are stricken with disease, you could find yourself a permanent resident on one of his many slabs inside!

The vermin are the real worry in here. Cockroaches and rats scurry about feasting on the diseased flesh of the dead and the soon to be dead. 

Try not to touch the foul creatures....they are literally dripping with horrid, bubbling, liquid death!

At long last...Autumn is upon us!

                 The start of the best 3 months of holidays known to mankind!

Digging up some old friends to help with The Haunted Forest

Not really...but it sure looks like we did!

We spent some time Saturday corpsing store bought skeles for our local Haunted Forest. Not too bad if I do say so myself!

Especially since they start out like this! We just used a heat gun and plastic tarp method with wood stain for desiccated skin effect

FIVE hidden keys to unlock The Haunted Forest...If you find one, you will be rewarded!

During the month of October, the barrier between our world and the spirit realm becomes extremely thin. So thin that those with the knowledge of the darker arts can break through that barrier and unleash the foul things of the other side into our world of warmth and light.

Madam Beatrice Lebow is one of those people. 

Every October she uses 5 special keys to unlock the land of the dead and invites them into the forests around Mountain Empire College.

 These keys take the form of shiny, jet black skulls that contain dark mojo that only a master of voodoo can use. 

This year, one of her most unruly minions named Darkness stole the keys away in an effort to prevent the Voodoo Queen from unleashing the spirits into the Haunted Forest.

 This minion hid the keys far and wide to prevent them from being found easily, but Madam Lebow is not so easily thwarted!

She has put out a reward for the safe return of those keys. Anybody who is lucky (unlucky?) enough to find one and return it to the main entrance of The Haunted Forest at the ticket booth, will receive (relatively) safe passage for 2 through her Haunted Forest for free! 

 One key has already been found and only 4 remain! Will you be the one to discover the next?

Creepycon 2018

My wife and I had the pleasure of going to the Creepycon Halloween/Horror convention in Knoxville TN last week with the folks from The haunted Forest.

It was a blast! Here are some of the photos from the event.

A circus sideshow kept everybody entertained over the 2 day event!

We got out picture taken with the actress who plays Pepper from American Horror Story!

They also had an oddities museum diplay

My wife entered the Zombie beauty pageant.  Her hobbies included listening to Classical music like Mozart because she was also de-composing!

They had a dance act of Thriller which was fantastic!

Day one we went as Death and a Vampire!

My wife waiting on a Hotel Valet when the elevators got stuck with about 20 kids crammed in one!

We also met this Genie named Zues who sold me a magic ring he made from an antique spoon from New Orleans that should protect me from evil spirits.... TRUE STORY!
