Halloween 2023

Halloween 2023 is in the books and it was a HUGE success!

We welcomed families from Wise, Lee, Scott, and Dickenson County as well as people from TN, WV, KY, NC, and even Canada!
We had thousands of visitors and we had such a great time celebrating with you all!
Meade Manor gave out over 500 bags of chips and over 180 GALLONS of candy! We estimate there were between 6000 to 8000 adults and children downtown that night.
We would not be able to do this without help and like most things in Big Stone Gap, it was a community effort! We are so grateful to live in a town that pulls together for common goals and boy did the community help out this year! Together we can do anything!
We would like to thank the following people/organization for candy contributions.
John Morrisey, Jade Cox, Mike Dorton, Micheal Ashbrook, Brian and Jen Jones and the entire California Clan, GoodTimes, PAWS, Robby Boggs at Mid Mountain, Rick Carpenter, Shelby Meade, Barbara Blanton, Gap Partnership, Ralph Gilley, Mike Curtis, Vicky and Shawn Eldridge, Shawn Stone, Carolyn Bentoski, Ashton & Brandon Maggard, Wendy & Stephen Murray at the Pottery Shop, Far Fetched Grooming & Boarding, Melissa and Scott Morgan. Sarah & Andrew, Gary and Kathy Johnson, The Gap Partnership, Lonesome Pine Realty, Henry and Rebeca Maggard,, Kate and Clark Boyer, Wendy and David Warden, Becca Estridge, Jennifer Lester, Cindy and Shuler Ringley, Judy Samples, Nancy Baily, Crystal Lyke, Mary Beth Allen, Kristen Hamilton Skorupa, The Good Shepard, Tiffany Van LenGen, Robin Arnold, Elise and Bobby Bloomer, and 404 Café & Creamery!
There were so many in the community that donated, we undoubtedly left a few off and we are so sorry for that but you all are appreciated each and every one.
We also wanted to give special thanks to Parks & Rec Crew, Haunted Forest Ghoul Crew, and Big Stone Gap Visitor Center employees for all the help with haunting and handing out tons of candy to pull this off!
Thanks to all the people that set up the ultra cool TRUNK OR TREAT beside the Big Stone Gap Visitor Center.
We are grateful for Family Fun Time Amusement for setting up a Halloween Carnival for Big Stone Gap in Miners Park!
Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank all those that came out to visit us on Halloween. We could not do it without you!
We love the concept Halloween because you invite strangers to your home, you accept them no matter how they are dressed or look, and you give them treats.... what is better than that?
We cannot wait for next Halloween!
