Happy Halloween! It's Party Time! {Countdown to Halloween Day 31}

 The big day is upon us! Thanks to all that have followed me through this fun countdown during one of our tamer years! We had our Halloween Party but greatly reduced in both size and intensity last night! Below you will find some of the pictures from the great event! 

Tonight we are doing a mini haunt for the Town and a Trunk or Treat so Halloween is alive and we hope to bring it back bigger, better, and scarier than ever in 2022!

Scenic Saturday {Countdown to Halloween Day 30}

 Happy Halloween Eve!

Sometimes I forget what makes Halloween so special to me. A huge part of that is the environment of the world during this time. The smell, the air, the colors, even the way the sun looks is all special this time of year. Here are some pictures I have take recently of my town showing how beautiful Halloween can be if you have amazing scenery.

Freaky Friday Ghost Photography {Countdown to Halloween Day 29}

 Ghost photography isn't what you think it is. I am not taking photos of ghosts (I wish), it's creating photos that look like the subject is a ghost with a little creative manipulation. You just need a good camera with a manual setting (so you can leave the shutter open), a tri-pod,  and a cool background and subject. I usually go for a 20 second exposure where the subject remains very still for 5 to 7 seconds and then runs out of frame, leavening a translucent, ghostly figure behind. Here are a few I have done of the years.

Thirsty Thursday {Countdown to Halloween Day 28}

 

The JekylL & Gin Glowing Cocktail

This is a tried and true cocktail I serve all the time!

This twist on a Gin Daisy looks coral in daylight—and glows white under a black light.

INGREDIENTS

3 oz. Gin

1/2 oz. lemon juice

1 tsp. grenadine

1 handful ice

tonic water

DIRECTIONS

Mix gin, lemon juice and grenadine in a cocktail shaker; pour into a large glass filled with ice.

Top with tonic water. Garnish with a glow stick stir stick (optional) or buy neon straws since you will need a UV light to make it glow anyhow.

Wacky Wednesday {Countdown to Halloween Day 27}

 Every now and then, I have to take a step back and remind myself that Halloween is also fun, wacky and crazy! Don't take it too serious....every now and then! Enjoy!
